A designer and illustrator for many years, Harry Stahl has a wild side. At night, when the spirit moves him, he assembles sculptures from an inventory of found parts: Day-Glo skulls, old records, a plastic guitar, you name it. Time passes, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, and by some alchemical process another sculpture emerges.

Harry says: "I'm pleased people like my work, but when I work it's like I'm on a desert island with no thought of an audience. For me these pieces are like notebooks or time capsules -- loaded up with information that may make sense later, not to worry about now."

A delightfully subversive sense of humor, an ability to seamlessly integrate seemingly any type of material with any other, and a watchmaker's attention to detail combine to make Harry Stahl's found object constructions a highlight of any collection.
