A designer and illustrator for many years, Harry Stahl has a wild side. At night, when the spirit moves him, he assembles sculptures from an inventory of found parts: Day-Glo skulls, old records, a plastic guitar, you name it. Time passes, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, and by some alchemical process another sculpture emerges. A delightfully subversive sense of humor, an ability to seamlessly integrate seemingly any type of material with any other, and a watchmaker's attention to detail combine to make Harry Stahl's found object constructions a highlight of any collection. |
